Wearing a Mask with Hearing Aids

As we find ourselves required to wear masks in public, those who wear behind-the-ear hearing aids may be at risk for losing them as they remove their masks. Just like removing glasses, flipping off a hat or hood, or removing a scarf are examples of how hearing aids can go flying off the ear, removing masks can easily flip a hearing aid off the ear.  This can happen in the car, in a parking lot, or while unloading groceries.  We have gotten a few calls about lost hearing devices while removing masks.

To mitigate this issue (and for added comfort), we recommend securing your mask with a clip behind the head, instead of hanging it off the ears.  Practically, this can be anything that will hold the mask in place, and as simple as a large paper clip. You can find pre-made clips with multiple sizes here:

We like Ear Savers and have them in stock.  For immediate use and to avoid shipping costs, you can call the office to arrange for a curbside pick up.
